For us readerly types, tea seems to be the perfect addition to a great book.  Red Leaf Tea recently gave away some of their wonderful African Summer tea here at carp(e) libris reviews, and they enjoyed your response to their teas. Today they’d love to give away some more!  Your input means a lot to them – for that reason, this time there will be two winners.  Red Leaf Tea wants your ideas and suggestions for improving their online store.  As usual, a winner will be selected randomly, but Red Leaf Tea will select the best suggestion as the second winner.  Both winners will receive any tea of their choice, up to a $15 value.

Also for carp(e) libris reviews readers, Red Leaf Tea is offering us all a 20% off coupon code for the first 10 people who use this coupon code: carp(e)libris.

  3. I admit that I’m behind the tech curve – I still use dial-up to connect to the net. I usually surf with images and flash turned off. So my advice to Redleaf is have your web guru try the site with images and flash turned off. The site is very hard to read the way it is. I’m sure just a little tweaking will make it more readable for us in the dark ages and not affect the look for the fast crowd. I love to drink tea (have a cup near right now). Thanks for the contest.

  4. I love Red Leaf Tea’s website. Only thing that I would suggest is a tea recipe section. How delicious would that be? You can create sooo many magical recipes with tea from iced tea splendors to adding a tea bag to the broth of cooking rice! Yummy! : )))

Thanks so much for this fabulous give~away! : )))

  7. I love that there is no shipping. I love to sample small amounts of different teas to determine what I like, but the cost of shipping ends up being more than the small amount I order sometime!

  13. I’d like to see a section of the website dedicated to the medicinal purposes of teas: stress, breast milk increase, stomach troubles, sore throats, etc.,

  14. Count me in :)

  15. I enjoyed looking over the website. The words at the top banner are a little hard to read, though, and it might be nice to have pictures of the actual products nearer the top of the home page. Thanks for a great giveaway! the teas look awesome!

  16. another daily entry

  17. Veronica Garrett

I would suggest adding a section on what to seve with tea and ideas on serving tea on holidays. maybe you could add products such as crackers or cookies.

  18. Citrus Chamomile sounds very interresting and may help you to get some sleep! No harm in trying it!

  19. Great products, but the home page could be made to appeal more to the senses. Use music, copy that talks of the sights, and smells (aroma), colors, and tastes of teas in reference to the history of tea and the journey it makes from where it is grown to where it is presented by Red Tea to the public. References to tea and its contribution to the global economy, and “good health” should also be incorporated in the body of the text.

The blooming teas are beautiful and an eye catcher. Highlight the blooming teas (small photo) on the home page. Best wishes, and thanks for the giveaway.

  40. Good tea info

  42. OK, that checklist on the homepage just does not work. The site needs thumbnail pictures of the various kinds of tea that you click on to find out more about them. Cups holding the perfectly-coloured, perfectly flavoured brew would be one way to go.

  43. Today’s entry. Thanks!

  44. I like tea. I ike to try different and flavorful tea.

  45. I enjoyed your website. I drink almost exclusively loose tea and purchase it online from several vendors. One thing you could do to improve your website it to make it easier for people to find the teas they are looking for. If someone is looking for non-flavoured black teas right now they have to go to the black tea tab and hunt through all the flavoured teas. The plain black teas (Darjeeling, ceylon) do not appear to be single estate… if they are you need to list the estate they are from. It would also be useful to post the grading of your tea, and the type of tea used in flavoured teas (most likely ceylon?). I enjoyed the fact that you posted reviews of your teas.

Although I like to try many different flavours of tea, I try to shop at stores where I can stock up on the ‘basics’ while I am there. I do not see Yunnan, Assam or other basic black teas in your selection. It would be a good idea to add them (As well as grade, region). The same goes for green teas.

If a tea has a name that does not describe the flavour (e.g. green harmony) you may want to put a word or two describing the flavour on the main page… otherwise your customers have to click in and out of dozens of pages to read about your teas, which can become frustrating.

If you are carrying fewer teas so that you can rotate through them faster (sending very fresh tea to the customer) then emphasize that somewhere on your page… this will explain the fewer offerings and showcase the strength of your site.

I like the site! I wish you the best of luck. I have bookmarked it for future reference.
